HS Productions is an independent California based media studio founded by filmmaker Will Pierce, producing documentary and experimental work at the intersection of ecological and scientific research and the working class. Will Pierce is a video artist and filmmaker working across experimental documentary and time based media, he combines observational footage, scientific research, and field narration to investigate how life adapts and resists within altered ecologies. His current film centers on the science of dendrochronology, using tree rings as both data and metaphor to examine deep time, environmental memory, and the fragility of climate records. Based in Sacramento, California, Pierce is the founder of Hot Snake Productions and the composting company Crop Circle LLC.
Nora Belblidia is a writer, editor, and self-taught artist living and working in New York City. She is a frequent collaborator with HS Productions, contributing across editorial and documentary projects. Her work merges drawing and photography to explore the edge between the material and the spiritual, between the past and present. With an interdisciplinary background that spans journalism, urban geography, scientific research, and documentary production, Nora’s practice is varied and ever-evolving.
